Ugh, the Korra finally was so bittersweet.
Sure, there were some good parts but Amon’s identity was such a let down. I never even seriously considered Amon to be related to anyone important, let alone a evil person, let alone a evil bloodbender, and let alone be related to the other antagonists in the series. That seemed too clichie and it kind of goes against the shows key theme for “finding a balance between two extreme.” Instead of finding a balance against two very different people, it was just two brothers. Still fits, but not as well. They sacrificed great thematic junk for plot convenience and to turn the show into a quarreling brother narrative.
Also I am so tired of the “Abusive daddy and nice but nonexistent mom” back stories thrown in at the last possible second. It feels like a cheap way to exploit the audiences sympathy. So whole Tarrlok/Noatak flashback I was like “oh, look. It’s this again.”
Also since when the hell has there been plastic surgery in Avatarland? I don’t even remembering seeing any regular nonwaterbender healers/doctors.
Also how the fuck did Noatak change not only his skin colour but his eye colour?
Also why the hell did Noatak make a giant water spiral? For a master manipulator and planner you would think he would know better than to do that RIGHT IN FRONT OF EVERYONE
I miss Amon back when he was full of potential and not just another “my daddy beat me so now I am mean/evil/crazy” villain.
I am not even mad, I am just disappointed
